TAPING THERAPY

Taping therapy, also known as strapping, is a technique used by physiotherapists for injury prevention or rehabilitation. It involves applying specialized tape to provide support and stability to injured soft tissue structures (such as ligaments, tendons, and fascia). Here are some benefits of taping:

  1. Protection: Taping helps protect injured tissues.
  2. Injury Prevention: It can prevent injuries.
  3. Normal Movement: Encourages normal movement.
  4. Pain Reduction: Helps reduce pain.
  5. Stability: Improves joint stability.
  6. Swelling Reduction: Reduces swelling.
  7. Risk of Re-injury: Decreases the risk of re-injury.

Taping is commonly used for various conditions, including shoulder injuries, ankle sprains, knee pain, and muscle strains. We can teach patients how to apply the tape themselves for ongoing benefit.
